Lake Arrowhead is another place we love to drive to for a quick weekend getaway. Just an hour and a half away, it’s the perfect distance to travel with kids in the car or if you don’t want to be driving for hours before you finally start relaxing. It has become a favorite for designers and home renovators. There are tons of updated rentals, including many A-Frame cabins that have been beautifully remodeled and styled. We stayed in the Nine Arrows Lake House a while back with another family; it was magical. We went out on the lake in a family friend’s boat, and the boys explored the surrounding woods and trails, searching for the perfect walking stick and collecting rocks. There is a cute town center where you can grab a hot chocolate, coffee, or a cold beer to sip on by the lake.
