Costa’s Cardamom Latte



Makes 2  8 oz lattes

  • 1 C homemade almond milk
  • 1 C water
  • 56 cardamom pods
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla powder or vanilla extract 
  • 1 decaf chai rooibos tea bag
  • Honey, to taste


Using the flat side of a knife, carefully smash the cardamom pods so they open up slightly.

In a small saucepan, pour the almond milk and water. Add the cardamom pods, cinnamon, ground cardamom, and vanilla. Heat on medium until almost boiling. Turn the heat off and add the teabag. Let steep for 5-7 minutes. Strain the mixture to remove all the pods, seeds, etc. Stir in honey to taste.

If you like, you can hit it with an immersion blender to get a little foam on top. Finish with a sprinkle of ground cardamom or cinnamon.
