Makes about 8 waffles
- 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup + more for serving
- 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter melted (1 stick)
In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sea salt.
In a small bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, and maple syrup. Pour the buttermilk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir to combine. Pour in the melted butter and stir to combine.
Cook in a preheated waffle iron until crisp and golden. Serve with warm maple syrup.
